I started my new job at the beginning of this week at Fourie Architects in Durbanville. I felt that changing jobs was necessary as I was not gaining enough experience at Boogertman and Partners Architects. Because of the corporate nature of the firm, it was difficult for them to find work that I could do. It was a large office and every employee was under the time pressure of deadlines, and as a result, they would rather give work to someone who could do it faster than to a student who has a million billion questions.
I was sad to leave Boogerman as I grew to like each office member very much. The office atmosphere is a cheerful and humerous one, and the director, Stephen Whitehead, was very kind and understood my problem and aggreed that I should put my studies first.
Boogertman is definitely a place where I would like to be a part of once I have put more years of study behind me and I will have more to offer.
As for Fourie Architects:) This small company is run by Frikkie Fourie, his assistant Brian Sparks and the receptionist Alzariah. The company is based in Park street Durbanville from an old house that has been converted into office space. I have been given my own office and working station and have already finished two tasks that I will post on my blog shortly. Frikkie and Brian are very helpful with my questions and always have something for me to do.
I am very happy here at my new job and am keen to learn a lot!!!! :D
Happy for you:)
