A few changes have been made to the Meerendal entrance wall. not so much the wall, but more just changes to the drawing of the wall e.g.
-Changes to certain lables on the drawing
-The Meerendal signage has been changes slightly on the CAD drawing as well as the sketchup drawing.
-Various headings have been added
-The detail that was in the right hand margin has now been taken away as it is not needed
-Some line weights have also been changed
The changes are not big, but i thought it would be best to post the drawing on my blog anyway:)

McCarthy Toyota Improvements
This drawing is for the same McCarthy Toyota projects in Parrow East, except for a few changes that have been made after meeting with the client yesterday.
Changes:
-The dispatch cages have been moved to the warehouse next door in order to create more floor space in the warehouse for the shelves that have to be placed there.
-A larger section of the wall next to the Telesales area is to be demolished, to create a more open plan space for the reception area.
-Telesales desk number 5 has been moves to a different area.
-The new glass that was to be put in the place of the delivery door in the Telesales area is not to be done anymore. The client rather wants to close the opening with partitioning
-Here and there small changes to the drawing have been made in order to improve the drawing.

McCarthy Storage Space for Spares
Today I completed the design proposal drawings for the McCarthy Toyota Storage space located in Parrow East. They have been e-mailed off to the client already, so we are waiting for his feedback on whether he likes the drawing or not. Once we have received the drawing back from the client we will start with the construction drawing of the project.
The Project entails, renovations of an old warehouse space. It will now become space for several new offices and storage for Toyota spare parts. The space must also be able to include all the storage racks that are old storage space that Toyota is currently using. Fortunately it is not our job to arrange the racks to fit. We have just counted how many racks their are so that Toyota can arrange them how ever they would like.

Toyota Spares Storage
Today I visited an old warehouse in Parow that has been vacant for the past year, as I was given the job to measure up the building as Toyota is going to use the warehouse as new storage space for their spare parts. I then had to travel to the current Toyota workshop in Parow to measure the different size storage racks that they have in their storage spaces. This is to make sure that all the racks can be arranged in a specific way that will allow them all to fit in the new storage spaces. The structure of the warehouse may change slightly as some of the unnecessary walls will be demolished, otherwise the warehouse will stay pretty much the same.
Below are some photographs of the warehouse that I measured up.
Now that i have the correct measurements of the warehouse, i have to draw a plan o the warehouse on CAD! Which i will post as soon as its finished:)

Val de Vie Wine and Polo Estate
This is the project that I am currently busy with at work. I have been given the instructions to bring up the plans of the Val de Vie Wine and Polo Estate into a 3D model. The building that I have done so far is the Polo Pavilion which is only one of many large grand buildings on the estate. The images below are of my model.
Arial view of the pavilion
Front view showing water feature
Standing height view of the patio facing the polo field.
Patio between the main building and the smaller building which is situated on either side on the main building
Entrance
Patio showing pergolas and lawn that runs onto the polo field
Entrance of the parking area showing the front of the building.Monday, 5 March 2012
If Monday was person, it would be a ginger
Monday morning, and i am welcomed to the office today with the news that my supervisor has gone to in Paris for the next two weeks to watch Rumstein's live concert. Fortunately there are plenty of other busy people in the office, who are more than willing to give me work:)
Today i have received another sketchup task for Val de Vie, Kliprug. As soon as i have something to show, i will post!!!

VINEYARD PROJECT
This week so far has been a rather quiet one, as i have just been given the task to make a few changes to the sketchup model that i have busy with previously.Changes that i had to make:
1. Change the residential houses from separate smaller buildings to four larger buildings that accommodate the same amount of living spaces.
2. Then i had to change the topography of my sketchup model. the ground level under the residential houses slopes up drastically at the back, allowing one of the facades to appear single story, and the opposite facade to appear double story, with the lower level being parking.
3. Another change that i had to make was to add windows and doors to more of the buildings.
4. I also had to change the trees that were on the model because, the trees that i had previously used were very dimensional and blotchy looking.
5. I had to add pergola's to some of the buildings.
This is the plan of the site that i had to bring to life via sketchup. Unfortunately one cannot see it very well, regardless of how much i tried to zoom in.
The pictures below, are of my updated sketchup design that will be sent off to the client today:)
A view of the main entrance to the vineyard office park..
Main garden in the office park, with trees and a water fountain at the centre of the stair that lead to the grass.
A view of the back of the residential buildings, showing the topography change from high to low. This view also shows the pergolas for each living section of the residential buildings.
The opposite view of the residential buildings, showing the downward slope of the topography as well as the underground parking.
This image illustrates an eye level view of the main pedestrian walkway that runs through the length of the entire office park.
This view illustrates all the different rooftop levels of the different buildings in the office park.
Another view of the entire office park from a different angle.
This image illustrates ab eye level view down one of the roads in the office park. One can once again see the underground parking level under the residential buildings as well as the water fountain situated next to it.
Hopefully there won't be anymore drastic changes after all my hard work!!!
